First Tracks Les Arcs. Write a review Upload a photo. Most Recent. Very good. Visiting for the first time in there was almost no accommodation and the ski school was in a Portakabin.
In place of their bustle, crush and noise Sainte Foy offered the chance to re-engage with the hills, to ski entrancingly beautiful terrain without the distraction of a hundred thousand other skiers jostling for the same space. The character is a million miles from the industrial brutalism of for example Val Claret. In addition to the three central lifts the Marquise chair has opened up an additional area of mountainside and the main chair out of the village is now a high speed quad.
But head onto the hill and the contrast with neighbouring resorts is just as strong as ever. The total mileage of the runs is not huge, but their quality and charm certainly is. Or with a guide go over the top into the Vallon du Clou for a long off-piste descent back past the deserted summer farming hamlet of Le Monal.
Visit outside the school holidays and you sometimes feel you are in your own private ski resort. And take some time with your skis off. There are some nice bars and restaurants, but this is a quiet, family oriented resort without disco-thump. But it still offers some rewarding skiing in a seriously beautiful location, and an unusually high quotient of charm.
I felt at home in Sainte Foy the very first time I visited, and I still look forward to turning the last hairpin bend and pulling into the resort. The spas mean that the visitor profile has changed too - this resort is now the same as every other French resort and that isn't good!
Steph W Manchester, UK 2 contributions. Sainte Foy with Premiere Neige. I don't normally write reviews, but just had to spread the word about the fantastic holiday we had with Premiere Neige in March. From the moment we arrived at La Marquise chalet, we were blown away by the luxurious bedrooms, staff and the views The staff were fantastic, nothing was too much of an ask and the food was excellent.
Our chef made the most amazing canapes, varied 4 course meals and the wine choices were excellent. We had 5 children in our group and as parents we were delighted that they were offered "proper meals" as opposed to pasta, mince or fish fingers which is so often the case in chalets.
We'd never been to Sainte Foy before and were surprised that we'd never heard of it before, considering it's so family friendly.
Our two littlest ones had never skied before, so we booked lessons for them in the morning then used Premiere Neige's creche in the afternoons. I have to say that there's not one part of the childcare provided that I would change. The nannies were lovely and really put us at ease, as I normally find it hard to leave our kids.
Really kind girls in the creche and they even picked the kids up from ski school. They even had their own personal folders and clay keepsakes of their first ski holiday to take home with them.
Happy kids meant for happy parents. We've already booked our hol for next year too as we can't imagine skiing anywhere else now! Just returned last night from a week in Ste Foy and i can honestly sya this is the first time i have come back from a holiday still in the good mood i had out there.
The dissapointment at the trip ending was of course there, however, looking back on the memories and moments of the week just kept me in a great mood.
We stayed with "Venture Ski" in a large Chalet, there were 7 adults and 3 children sub 3 years old. The chalet was spacious, well decorated and contained superb facilites and comfort for all of us, including a generous sized toy box for the kids.
The comfort of the trip was enhanced significantly by Jen our chalet host who earned herself the nickname "wine ninja" due to not only keeping our glasses full, but in the most part doing so completely unnnoticed! Adam our chef produced fantastic canapes and 3 course meals each day, and thats without me talking about the fresh cakes baked daily.
The ski area was very good considering it was the last week of the season, when things went a little slushy on the penultimate day of our trip Venture organised for us to be taken across to Les Arc where the increase in altitude gave us more perfect skiing under clear blue skies. I will definitely be returning, the off-piste world on offer is phenomenal for me, along with a good range of slopes for my partner to continue her newer love of skiing.

Receive our newsletter to be the first to be informed of news of the resort, our events and our good deals. We have good English speaking ski schools plus many private instructors and guides and we can help you through the booking process. Ski Set has the latest skis and boards to hire or buy plus a state of the art boot fitting machine to ensure you get that perfect fit. The skiing and boarding appeals to all abilities; quiet, uncrowded pistes; but also a vast area of untracked powder slopes for the off-piste enthusiasts.
Ideal for beginners, experts and skiers and snowboarders alike who enjoy everything from piste to powder. The little ones can enjoy starting out on the nursery slopes which come complete with magic carpets. The older teenagers can head off by themselves as the lift system is simple and easy to navigate. The powder hounds in the family will find plenty of off-piste terrain close to lifts and pistes. Finally the non-skiers can join in the fun by accessing mountain restaurants using the lift system or by walking up via easy pistes.
Is there enough on offer we hear you ask? Small resort, must be limited, etc, etc. In truth this is the appeal. Everything is local which makes logistics a lot easier. Add to this the great activities available such as evenings up the mountain at a restaurant, with torchlight descents. Easy off-piste trips over the back from intermediate level through to heli-skiing. Sainte Foy offers all this at a fraction of the accommodation costs of the big surrounding meccas, whilst retaining the local atmosphere and charm.
