I hope that you visited the market on a wednesday, when all the goods are secondhand and are obviously not in a new condition. Thats the essence of the market outside on a wednesday. At All other times, the market sells new goods and all at the usual market rates, where I am sure you will have found a bargain or two.

I do hope you return and perhaps give another review at another time. Jeffrey Liverpool, UK contributions. This place needs a re-vamp ASAP. Stall holders that only take cash!! Not all but some stall holders of long standing are so arrogant and the outside market side needs serious consideration.

Halton council give the team more money and freedom to turn this around. Not the best but can get better if the traders pay their way. The council owe the people of Widnes, so come on stop waisting time and get the market sorted out - i suggest the nice council people and the market mangers at their own cost have a day out in Bury market and basically copy it.

Lets have decent stalls and go up market no pun. And lets have a policy that customers can use their bank cards. This can be paid for from increased rents to the stall holders year on year and will be covered by more customers. Charlie B 3 contributions. Widnes market is ok but if you ever go to the market cafe called Market cafe the staff can be very arrogant at time if you want ya food a certain way they moan about it and there has been often time I have been and found stuff like material, hair and also a lil bit off a tin so to who ever goes there be weiry.

Sadly, Widnes market is suffering the fate of all markets these days. Making one of the empty stalls a prayer area doesn't cover up the fact that this place is sadly dying.

It's still worth a visit but I wonder how long before it hits a critical mass below which a terminal decline is unstoppable. Geoff M 50 contributions. Got great memories of Widnes market. But it seems to be in decline, lots of empty stalls and quite a few old faces missing. There is a need and people do attend, is it a lack of funding and foresight from the council? Good luck yo the stall holders i hope you get the support that you deserve. Wayne P Golborne, UK contributions.

I have only been once but boy did I love it and the reason I loved it was due to the fact it was an old style market and I love that and there should be more about. Roy N Widnes, UK 11 contributions.
